In the Western innovations, Socrates played an important role in developed the Western world as well as the Greece Empire. His life was recorded by many of his students, including Plato. Socrates was born in 470 BC, in Athens, Greece. He spent his whole life on studying and teaching his students. He wasn’t born in the noble family. At the early young age, he just received a basic education of Greece and leant crafting from his father. People believed that he was a crafter for years before he entered a life of philosopher. Additionally, Socrates believed that philosopher should bring a greater society. According to biography.com, “Socrates attempted to create an ethical system based on human reason rather than theological doctrine.” He pointed out that human choices were inspired by desire of joy. And, he also said that the more people know, the more right choice they could make for their happiness. When the political of Greece were going to declined, Socrates died by poisonous. He left the “Socratic method” for Western system of logic and philosophy. |
